Abdul lost his father at a tender age, which left him and his siblings in the hands of a single mother. His mother washed people’s clothes to earn a living.

With such a background, Kasujja could not even think of school. It was the good will of his elder brother which opened his education door from his meagre earnings from roasting chicken and beef. His aunt, a nursing assistant helped and paid his school dues, which pushed him up to the end of O’ level and she could also not afford any more.

When all hope of furthering his education was diminishing, The MasterCard Foundation at Brac offered him a scholarship. This enabled him to complete his Advanced Level education at East High school Ntinda, where he excelled with 17 points in PEM. He was yet again offered another scholarship by The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University, and was admitted at the College of Engineering to do a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is proud to be a part of The MasterCard Scholars Program at Makerere University, a program that caters for all his University fees.

After his degree, he hopes to start up a technical institute to help people in his community, especially those who cannot afford higher education. One of his goals is to transform his country through leadership. He aspires to become one of the most successful Engineers Uganda will boast of in the next few years to come. He contends that, he wouldn’t be where he is today without the immense support from The MasterCard Foundation.
