BRIEF BIO ON SCHOLAR

Geoffrey hails from Gulu district in northern Uganda. He is the second born in the family of four children. He was orphaned at a tender age, and together with his siblings was left in the hands of their aging grandmother. He went to Layibi Central Primary School for his early education. However, after the primary section, the grandmother could not afford the school fees to take him to secondary schools. Luckily The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Brac offered him a scholarship, which enabled him to join Gulu Secondary School for ‘O’ level, and proceeded to Kiira College Butiki, Jinja for ‘A’ Level. Due to holistic support and mentorship from The MasterCard Foundation Scholars team, Geoffrey excelled in his ‘A’ level final exams. He was awarded another scholarship by The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University, to undertake a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He aspires to become one of the best computer programmers in the country, and teacher of computer to the young ones in his community. He sincerely appreciates The MasterCard Foundation for supporting him throughout his academic journey.
