Pelluce Kabarokole

GENDER: Female

PROGRAMME: Bachelor of Science with Education

COLLEGE: College of Computing and Information Sciences

STUDY PERIOD: 2015 to 2018

Pelluce is the third born in a family of 10 children. Her father used to pay her school fees, but all this changed when he passed away. Life became very difficult both financially and physically since her mother is just a peasant. Pelluce’s chance at school dimmed. Fortunately by God's grace, Pelluce got The MasterCard Foundation Scholarship at Brac and was able to join Trinity College Nabbingo for Advanced level education. Hope was restored from then! While there, she worked diligently and excelled in her final exams in 2014. However, she didn’t have hope of joining University to further her education. Luck struck yet again, she was offered another scholarship from The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University.

Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Education. With the empowerment she is getting, she believes that Africa will be positively changed! She wants other girls to know that science disciplines are not meant for boys only but for girls as well. As it were education knows no gender! She is forever indebted to The MasterCard Foundation for restoring her hope of attaining quality Education.
