Chiluba Fredrick Narsh

GENDER: Male

NATIONALITY: Ugandan

DISTRICT OF ORIGIN: Agago

PROGRAMME: Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering

COLLEGE: College of Computing and Information Sciences

STUDY PERIOD: 2015 to 2019

BRIEF BIO ON SCHOLAR:

Fredrick is the third born in the family of five. He lost his father at the age of seven, which left him and his siblings in the hands of a single mother who is a street vendor.

Through hard work and endurance, working together with his mother, he managed to go through the primary section of the education and the lower secondary level. At this point he had lost hope of furthering his education and had chosen to become a primary school teacher.

While contemplating which primary training institution he should enrol in, lady luck smiled his way, The MasterCard Foundation at Brac offered him a scholarship, and with it, he joined Hilton High School for his Advanced level of education, where he did Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. He excelled in his final exams in 2014, but had no hope of joining University.

Luck was on his side yet again, he was offered another scholarship by The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere. Currently, he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in software engineering, which skills he hopes to use to influence in the field of medical care, and use his income to build schools for needy people, as a way of giving back to his community. He is forever grateful to The MasterCard Foundation for giving him an opportunity to pursue his dream.
