Muwanguzi Wilber

GENDER: Male

NATIONALITY: Ugandan

DISTRICT OF ORIGIN: Wakiso

PROGRAMME: Bachelor of Science in Population Studies

COLLEGE: College of Business and Management Sciences

STUDY PERIOD: 2015 to 2018

BRIEF BIO ON SCHOLAR:

Muwanguzi Wilber is the first born in the family of six children. His father stopped paying Wilber’s school fees when Wilber’s step brothers squandered the little money that had been saved for school fees. This confusion resulted into his parents’ separation. His mother had to use the little income she got from working as a salon assistant to look after Wilber and his siblings, in addition to paying their school fees. His mother could only push on till the end form four. There was no more money for Wilber to go on to ‘A’ Level. At this point in life, The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Brac came to his aid. He joined Lubiri Secondary School for his A’ level, and excelled in his final exams in 2014. Due to the good performance, he secured another Scholarship for his University education through The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Population studies. Wilber is a happy man now and is forever indebted to The MasterCard Foundation for all the support rendered to him to pursue his education dreams. He is assured of a bright future and is confident that he will hold his other siblings’ hands through school and relieve his mother of the weight of family responsibilities. He also promises to give back to the community in the near future.
