Tiko Harriet

Harriet Tiko is the Psychosocial and Support Services officer (Full Time) at The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University.

Key Roles:

  • Provide psychosocial, mentorship and welfare support services to MCF Scholars.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive suite of academic, emotional support services and capacity building.

Harriet holds Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Martin Luther Christian University, India, a Post graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute, a Bachelor of Guidance and Counseling from Kyambogo University, Higher Diploma in Child Counseling from Mild may Uganda and Diploma in Law from the Law Development Centre Kampala, and a number of other trainings in areas of training, child protection and addiction management.

Harriet has wide experience in working with young people; as addiction therapist in drug rehabilitation Centre, assessed problematic areas to plan interventions, provided preventive awareness education in schools and therapy for those already using drugs, lectured in Kyambogo University where she provided career counseling and support to her students besides other lecturing roles. As the University Counselor with Uganda Martyrs University, she developed and implemented comprehensive counseling and academic support programs for the university community.
